The Ford F250 Super Duty is at the top of its class when it comes to toughness,
practicality and towing/payload capability. It is designed to handle the heaviest
of workloads. Available in a huge variety of configurations and variations such
as: 2WD or 4WD, short wheelbase (SWB) or long wheelbase (LWB), Regular Cab, SuperCab,
and CrewCab, single and dual rear wheels, and XL, XLT and Lariat models, there
is indeed a Ford F250 for everybody.
No major revisions were in place for the year 2002, although more color choices
are offered for this model year. The minor chan ges for this year had to do with
improving the comfort and convenience in the interior room. A number of new features
and nifty functions add to the interior usability and comfort of this rugged pickup
truck. In the 6.8L gasoline engine equipped models, shift feel has been improved.
Three engines are available for the 2002 Ford F250 Super Duty: 5.4L SOHC Triton
V-8 is rated at 260 horsepower and 350 lb.-ft of torque, 7.3L Power Stroke TM
turbo diesel V-8, and the 6.8L SOHC Triton V-10 that puts out 310 horsepower and
425 lb.-ft. of torque. When fully equipped, the Ford F250 Super Duty can tow up
to 12,500lbs, the highest conventional trailer towing of any pickup in its class.
The Ford F250 offers superior strength and toughness combined with a more convenient
and comfortable interior.
